Not Using a Business Pinterest account for your Business
This is not okay, folks. The huge difference between a personal account and a business account is recorded information: analytics. On a business account, you can see the demographic of people interested in your pins, where are they from, and how many people visited your boards using which device. You want to make sure you’re having more and more people interested about you and your boards because that leads them to your website. Pinning Unrelated Stuff toYour Business' Account
Let’s say you own a hair care products business, and you’ve got yourself a Pinterest account. A curious viewer visits your profile to view your boards and sees some boards based on hairstyles and products and also “Easy Dinner Recipes.” It looks inconsistent and unprofessional, and that reflects on your business. You don’t want that. I suggest having a separate personal account to pin to your heart’s content!
Forgetting to Be Social
While you’re out there pinning related topics to your boards, don’t forget to leave a comment on other pins. Aim to create relationships with people, and they’ll be curious about you and what you are pinning. So remember to leave comments and and likes, okay?
Not Having a Uniformed Look With Original Content
You want your viewers to be able to see your Pin and know it’s from you. Try using large text titles to grab your viewers’ attention and they won’t have to open your Pin in order to read the title. Try sticking to the same color theme as your website. Your Pinterest account is a reflection of your business, so make your original pins stand out and consistent.
Not Linking to the Correct Page
This is crucial! Let’s say that someone clicks on your Pin of one of your products. You’re going to want them to be taken to that product’s page where they can learn more and purchase from your website. Link to where you want your visitors to go. Don’t make your visitors search all over your website for the one product they’re interested in.
